Statement of Capability
Concrete Construction. On Time. On Budget.
1910 Construction Corp is a concrete-focused construction company serving homeowners, developers, and property owners across the Chicago metro. We specialize in structural and flatwork concrete — foundations, slabs, driveways, sitework, and masonry — executed by a crew that shows up, pours clean, and finishes on schedule.
Every estimate we issue is a commitment: a fixed scope, a fixed schedule, and a fixed budget. We plan each pour around weather, inspections, and site conditions before we break ground, so change orders and missed deadlines aren't part of how we operate. Our capability is measured in projects delivered — on time and on budget, every time.
On-Time Delivery
Every schedule is mapped around permitting, weather, and inspection windows before the first pour — not adjusted after the fact.
On-Budget Execution
Fixed-scope estimates and direct owner oversight mean the number we quote is the number you pay.
Concrete & Structural Expertise
Foundations, slabs, driveways, sitework, and masonry — poured and finished by a licensed, in-house crew.

Our job isn't done when the truck leaves the site. Here's how to protect your concrete through Midwest winters, summers, and everything between — from the first week of curing to year twenty.
The approximate number of freeze-thaw cycles a Chicago-area slab endures in a typical winter.
3+ Yrs
Before You Reseal
Every pour includes an integrated sealer, so you won't need to reseal for at least 3 years.
28 Days
Full Cure Time
How long new concrete needs to fully cure before sealer, deicers, or heavy use.
2–3x
Lifespan Difference
Sealed, well-maintained concrete regularly outlasts neglected concrete by two to three times.
After We Leave
The Maintenance Timeline
Day 1–7 · Curing Window
Keep It Light
Keep foot traffic light and vehicles off new concrete. No deicing salt, no pressure washing yet — the slab needs to cure before it can take on daily use.
Day 1–3 · Hot Weather Curing
Keep It Wet
Especially in hot weather, water the surface down a few times a day for the first couple of days. Curing concrete needs moisture to gain strength — if it dries out too fast in the heat, it can crack or cure weak.
Week 2–4 · First Clean
Water Only
Rinse with water if needed. Hold off on detergents, degreasers, and pressure washing until the concrete has cured for a full 28 days.
At the Pour · Integrated Sealer
Sealed From Day One
We mix an integrated sealer into the concrete itself, so there's no separate sealing visit and no bare window where the surface is unprotected. You won't need to reseal for at least 3 years.
Every Winter · Deicer Season
Choose Deicers Carefully
Use calcium chloride or sand instead of rock salt or ammonium-based deicers, which attack the surface and accelerate scaling and pitting.
Every 3+ Years · Reseal
Stay Ahead of Wear
Because every pour includes an integrated sealer, most driveways and patios won't need resealing for at least 3 years. Stamped and decorative surfaces should still get checked first, since color sealers wear faster.
Ongoing · Crack & Joint Watch
Catch It Before Water Does
Hairline cracks are normal. Widening cracks and failed control joints should get caulked or repaired before water gets in, freezes, and does real damage.
Built for the Midwest
Chicago Weather Is Concrete's Toughest Test
Chicago-area concrete goes through more freeze-thaw cycles each winter than almost anywhere else in the country. Water works its way into the pores of the slab, freezes, expands, and pushes the surface apart — a process known as scaling or spalling. Add road salt and calcium chloride into the mix, and untreated concrete can show real damage within just a few winters. Out here, maintenance isn't optional — it's the difference between a driveway that lasts ten years and one that lasts thirty.
Freeze-Thaw Cycling
Sealed concrete resists water intrusion. Unsealed concrete lets water in, freeze, expand, and crack the surface from the inside out — winter after winter.
Deicing Salt Damage
Rock salt and ammonium-based deicers accelerate surface scaling. Our integrated sealer blocks chloride penetration from the day we pour, with no gap before a separate coat gets applied.
Spring Saturation
Snowmelt and spring rain saturate unsealed concrete right before overnight refreezes — the single hardest stretch of the year on an unprotected slab.
Niche Care
Stamped & Decorative Concrete Maintenance
Stamped, stained, and exposed-aggregate concrete look better than a standard slab — and they need more attention to stay that way. The color and texture live in a thin surface layer, and that layer is exactly what takes the abuse from UV, salt, and foot traffic.
Integrated Sealer, Built In
Every pour includes an integrated sealer, so stamped and decorative concrete is protected from day one — no bare window before a first coat. Most surfaces won't need resealing for at least 3 years.
No Metal Blades, No Rock Salt
Metal shovels and ice picks chip stamped texture; rock salt and ammonium deicers eat through color sealer. Use a plastic shovel and calcium chloride or sand instead.
Watch for Efflorescence
The white, chalky bloom that appears on stamped concrete is mineral deposits pushed up by moisture — common after Midwest freeze-thaw cycles. It's cosmetic, but it signals the sealer needs attention.
Slip-Resistance Touch-Ups
Sealers can get slick when wet, especially around pools, patios, and entries. We reapply a slip-resistant additive during resealing on high-traffic and wet-prone areas.
UV & Color Fading
Direct sun fades color sealers over the years. A color-enhancing reseal restores the original tone without repouring the slab.
Let's Protect It
Ready to Protect Your Concrete?
Whether it's a first-time sealing, a stamped patio touch-up, or a pre-winter inspection, we'll take a look and tell you exactly what it needs — nothing more.

Primary Service Area
Serving Cook, DuPage, and Lake Counties
We're based in Berwyn, on Chicago's near-west side, and that's where most of our work starts. But our crew regularly travels across the metro — from the North Shore to the western and northern suburbs — to pour, build, and maintain concrete for homeowners, developers, and property owners alike.
Cook County
Home base. From Berwyn and the near-west suburbs to the North Shore and Northwest suburbs, Cook County is where the majority of our projects happen.
DuPage County
Regular work throughout DuPage — from Oak Brook and Hinsdale to Naperville and Wheaton.
Lake County
From Highland Park to Lake Forest and the Barrington-area estates, we take on projects throughout Lake County as well.
